From rural Southeastern Nigeria to a lifelong mission for inclusive, resilient communities.
Dr. Ifeanyi Uzor, DrPH, is a public health and disability inclusion strategist, community development leader, and the Founder and Executive Director of Vantercor Global Community Health Solutions Inc. (VGCHS). Based in Edmonton, Alberta, his career has been dedicated to advancing health equity, disability inclusion, community resilience, poverty reduction, and the social and economic participation of marginalized populations.
Where this began
Lived experience, not just professional interest.
Dr. Uzor’s commitment to this work is rooted in both professional expertise and lived experience. Born and raised in rural Southeastern Nigeria, he acquired a permanent physical disability after contracting polio at the age of three, and went on to encounter many of the physical, social, educational and institutional barriers experienced by persons with disabilities in inaccessible environments.
At the age of seven, he also lost his mother following preventable postpartum complications. Together, these early experiences gave him an enduring, first-hand understanding of how poverty, disability, inadequate healthcare and social exclusion intersect to shape the lives of individuals, families and communities.
Rather than letting these circumstances define his possibilities, Dr. Uzor transformed them into a lifelong commitment to advocacy, service and systems change.

His path — from a child with a disability in rural Nigeria to a public health professional and organizational founder in Canada — continues to inform a belief that runs through everything VGCHS does: that resilient communities are built when people who have historically been excluded are meaningfully included in the decisions, institutions and systems that affect their lives.

In 2025, Dr. Uzor founded Vantercor Global Community Health Solutions Inc. as a Canadian organization committed to developing practical, inclusive and sustainable responses to complex health and social challenges — bringing together public health knowledge, disability inclusion, community development, leadership and lived experience to strengthen the systems serving marginalized and underserved populations.
Under his leadership, VGCHS is being positioned to work alongside governments, Indigenous Nations, community organizations, humanitarian institutions and development partners in Canada, Africa and underserved regions worldwide — with priorities spanning maternal and child health, disability rights and inclusion, community health-system strengthening, emergency preparedness, youth and family resilience, inclusive social protection, training, advocacy and sustainable development.

Dr. Uzor’s leadership philosophy emphasizes dignity, partnership, accountability, cultural humility and the meaningful participation of people with lived experience. He believes communities should not be treated merely as recipients of programs, but recognized as partners whose knowledge, strengths and priorities must shape the solutions intended to serve them.

In his own words
His Catholic faith has sustained his resilience, purpose and service throughout his life. His Igbo name, Ifeanyichukwu — “With God, everything is possible” — expresses the conviction that has guided his personal journey and professional mission.
Through VGCHS, Dr. Uzor seeks to turn that conviction into action: helping build healthier, more inclusive, resilient and equitable communities, where disability, poverty, geography or social circumstance do not determine a person’s opportunity to thrive.
